Container train from Latvia to Belarus

In cooperation with railway companies of Latvia, Belarus and Estonia there has been formed a container train ZUBR, which will be running according to schedule in the route Riga-Minsk and back.

Container train will be formed in Šķirotava station and it will be running 1.5 days. It is planned that equal tariff rates will be applied to all participants of the project, and within the framework of the project there will be ensured simplified border crossing and customs control procedures.

The first experimental train with 23 platforms and 12x40`HC and 22x20` tank containers left Novopolock on 10 June and will arrive at Riga-Krasta station on 11 June at 14:30.

Container train operator in Latvia is LDz Cargo Loģistika Ltd. It is planned that the new train will transport export and import cargos to and from the Republic of Belarus, as well as transit cargos from and to Estonia.
