On February 7, pursuant to the requirements of the Law on Governance of Capital Shares of Public Entity and Management of Capital Companies Thereof, the Council of LDZ CARGO Ltd. appointed candidates put forward by the Nomination Commission to the positions of chairman and member of the company’s Management Board. Aļģirds Miķelsons was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of LDZ CARGO Ltd. for a term of five years, and Olga Bondare was appointed Member of the Management Board. Both new members of the Management Board of LDZ CARGO Ltd. will take up office on March 18 this year.
Aļģirds Miķelsons, who has been appointed Chairman of the Management Board, has many years of international experience in management of transport companies: since 2019 he has been working as Chief Executive Officer of MAU Technic LLC in Ukraine, prior to that he was Chief Technology Officer of Ukraine International Airlines, the national airline of Ukraine. In the aviation industry, which requires high responsibility, efficiency and professionalism, Aļģirds Miķelsons has held positions that have a decisive impact on the company’s operations, gaining valuable experience in strategic business development, optimization of procedures and improving efficiency, as well as in expanding business opportunities and increasing revenues. Aļģirds Miķelsons holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Latvia, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Oxford University in England, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from RTU Aviation Institute.
Olga Bondare, who has been appointed Member of the Board of LDZ CARGO Ltd. in charge of financial matters, previously worked as Director of Finance at Maxima Latvija Ltd., Puratos Latvia Ltd. Director of Finance in the Baltics and Scandinavia, and Regional Director of Finance and Logistics at BIC Deutschland GmbH in Germany. In addition to her professional work, Olga Bondare also has lecturing experience at the Riga Graduate School of Law, teaching courses in business valuation and financial accounting. Olga Bondare holds a Master’s Degree in Law and Finance from the Riga Graduate School of Law. Olga Bondare’s extensive international experience in strategic financial management, planning and development will contribute significantly to the competences of LDZ CARGO Ltd and Latvijas Dzelzceļš Group as a whole.
Therefore from March 18, 2024, the Management Board of LDZ CARGO Ltd. will be made up of three members: Aļģirds Miķelsons, Olga Bondare, and the current Management Board Member Mārtiņš Pevko.
