In the tender, which was announced by SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš for provision of credit of 20.4 million euros there participated three credit institutions. The offer of JSC Sampo Banka was declared the most economically beneficial.
Credit money will be used in reconstruction of rail track, replacement of switches within the framework of the project Replacement of rail switches, purchase of hardware, modernization of computerized traffic control system, as well as in establishment of two lines of optical cables from Russia/Latvia state border to Latvia/Lithuania state border.
The credit was given for ten years.
