New Wheel Pair Repair Shop at Wagon Repair Centre in Daugavpils
On 14 December 2007 in Daugavpils there was signed an acceptance certificate on a new wagon wheel pair repair shop that was put into operation at Wagon Repair Centre Vagonu serviss (VRC) (Wagon Service).
The shops in a test regime have been working since 16 May 2007, but the modernization project of a wheel pair repair shop has already been launched in 2006. Total costs of the project are more than 277 000 LVL. This sum includes expenses of construction works and new equipment – purchase of rotary grinding machines, as well as of two-wheel extrusion machines. To provide the necessary electric power there was purchased a new module type electric power substation.
In the inspection commission there were experts from Rolling Stock Division and Capital Construction Unit, Technical Management Department, SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš, as well as representatives from LDz Technical Inspection and LDz Rolling Stock Service Ltd. The commission’s chairman Vladimirs DOBROVOĻSKIS, Head of Rolling Stock Division, said that mounting works of construction at wheel pair repair shop have been done in good quality and conform to the project, the necessary technical documentation has been prepared, and therefore, commission’s judgement on the new shop is positive.
