Dz representatives will attend CER General Assembly and European Asian Rail Summit in Berlin

On 20 September in Berlin will take place the 41st CER General Assembly, which will be attended also by Uģis Magonis, Chairman of the Board of State Joint Stock Company Latvijas dzelzceļš (LDz).

 

The meeting agenda contains important issues concerning EU transport policy, ie. Recast of the First Railway Package, forthcoming Transport White Paper, revision of the Eurovignette Directive, economic crisis and ERA related projects. CER members will be invited to vote for the new calculation scheme of CER Membership fees.

 

Within the framework of the international exhibition InnoTrans 2010 on 21 September in Berlin Exhibition Grounds will take place European Asian Rail Summit, which will be attended by transport ministers and railway executives from about 40 European and Asian countries, as well as representatives from politics and international railway organizations. The main focus will be on discussions about the globalization of the railways and opening up new opportunities in Europe and Asia, as well as in the Middle East.
