SJSC Latvijas Dzelzceļš Board Chairman Māris Kleinbergs: “This is a time of turmoil for each of us – the global economy, the Latvian economy, and also the Latvian transit industry. Latvijas Dzelzceļš, too, is going through a process of change – all organizational and technological processes are reviewed and optimized, and a new business model of Latvijas Dzelzceļš Group is being developed. I have taken over as the head of LDz at a difficult time, therefore my priorities in the early stages will be directly related to managing this change process, regaining and strengthening the company’s financial balance, and creating new business opportunities, and I am confident that, together with LDz management team, we will make Latvijas Dzelzceļš a modern and competitive company!”

Ainis Stūrmanis, who was responsible for the company’s development projects, has been released from the Board, and the chairman of the Board will be now responsible for the company’s development matters.

Therefore LDz Board is currently made up of chairman of the Board Māris Kleinbergs, as well as members of the Board Ēriks Šmuksts and Andris Lubāns, who will be replaced by the new Board member Vita Balode-Andrūsa as of June 1.
