LDz (Latvian Railway) envisages by the plan of the next year to purchase 100 new open trucks for carriage of heavy-tonnage containers

State Joint Stock Company “Latvijas dzelzceļš” freight wagon fleet consists of 5290 wagons, including the following types: 1222 tankwagons, 1327 covered wagons, 1183 gondolas, 97 multi-purpose open trucks, 324 open trucks for containers carriage and 1137 other types of wagons.
Latvian Railway envisages by the plan of the next year to increase the open truck fleet for containers carriage by purchase of 100 new open trucks. The price for such a truck range is around 50,000 US dollars. The tender will be announced for purchase these open trucks.
Every year about 3,000 freight wagons are repaired and modernised to keep the wagon fleet according the operational requirements.
