Latvian Railway History Museum invites visitors to Museum Night in Jelgava

On 17 May 2008 from 19:00 till 01:00 in the affiliate of Latvian Railway History Museum in Jelgava, 3 Stacijas Street, there will take place several events within the framework of Museum Night.

Night in Jelgava museum will be based on the story about 600 mm rural railway in Kurzeme and Zemgale. At 19:00 railway crossing barrier at the entrance of Railway museum will be raised and all the visitors will have a change to view exposition in the museum yard. There will be shown a film Small steam locomotive de facto (director - A. Priedītis), as well as documents of museum collection and pictures of 600 mm railways in Latvia will be displayed.

From 19:00 till 01:00 in Jelgava railway station there will be open a photo exhibition Railway Platform of Latvian Museum of Photography. Exhibition is organized in cooperation with Latvian Museum of Photography.

From 19:00 till 01:00 at Latvian Railway History Museum in Riga, Uzvaras bulvaris 2/4, there will be open rolling stock open-air exposition.

This year Museum Night is organized within the framework of German culture month O!Vācija and its slogan is Komm morgen wieder! (Come tomorrow again!).
Museum Night (Nuit de musees) is an international event of European museums and is aimed to present value of museum collections and to stimulate cooperation among museums in Europe.
