Domestic passenger train timetable from May 27, 2007

There will be a new domestic passenger train timetable for the years 2007/2008 as from May 27.

The timetable is in compliance with the government order of the domestic railway passenger traffic and it is based on the instant passenger train timetable. However, considering the changes of the defined impetus in several railway spans and taking into account the long-distance train timetable, the departure and arrival times of the electric and diesel-engine trains will be slightly changed in all the routes.

From May 27, the modernised three-carriage diesel-engine train no.806/805 with an enhanced comfort level and the numbered seats will start to run in the route Riga-Rezekne-Riga. The additional payment is determined about this train, likewise about the express trains to Daugavpils and Liepāja. The train will stop only in the following stations: Ogre, Pļaviņas, Krustpils and Viļāni. It will take three hours to go from Riga to Rēzekne instead of four hours as it is now.

From May 27, the diesel-engine train no.620 Riga-Gulbene will depart from Riga at 17:25 and run in a conjoint train with the train no.618 Riga-Daugavpils till the station Pļaviņas. The carriages of the train no.618 Riga-Daugavpils will be located in forepart of the conjoint train no.618/620, but the carriages of the train no.620 Riga-Gulbene – at the rear of the train.

Considering the increasing number of the passengers in the summer, additional electric trains to Jūrmala and Saulkrasti will be assigned within limits also this summer. As to date the additional trains will also be assigned on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as in national holidays. The assigned additional trains in the timetable are marked with the asterisk (*). It will be possible to buy the booklets of the domestic passenger train timetable 2007/2008 at the booking offices in the railway stations and at the Information centre in Riga Central Railway Station.
